a girl named sooner • 50th annniversary celebaration
In 1974, a movie called 'A Girl Named Sooner' was filmed in Vevay and Switzerland County. It premiered on NBC on June 18th, 1975.
Fifty years later, we celebrate this movie on Saturday June 21st at the Historic Hoosier Theater and the Swiss Inn in Vevay. Scheduled to appear is Sooner herself, Susan Deer.
Show times are 2:00 and 6:00. Each showing with start with 'Memories of Sooner' featuring many people here in Switzerland County who were in the movie, followed by a screening of 'A Girl Named Sooner'. Additionally, a reception with Susan Deer will be held at the Swiss Inn at 4:00.
Limited tickets are available for each showing and the separate reception. You may pick up tickets in person at the Switzerland County Visitors Center from 10-4, Monday - Saturday, or call 812-427-3237 to reserve yours.
