The Swiss Wine Festival celebrates the wine producing history and heritage of the first settlers in Switzerland County in the 1800s. The 53rd Annual Swiss Wine Festival will be held August 21-25, 2025.

In the Summer of 1974 a film was produced in Switzerland County, Indiana and specifically in the town of Vevay. The made for TV film was released a year later on June 18th, 1975 under the title "A Girl Named Sooner".
The following are memories given 50 years later in 2025 by Susan Deer who played "Sooner", Michael Gross who played Jim Seevey and local Vevay residents who were "extras" in the film.
