First Friday – May 5th

There will be lots to do this coming First Friday, being the Rivertown Art Tour Kick-off as well as Cinco de Mayo! Here’s a list of the events we have going on so far:

  • Froggy 95.9 Radio Station will be having their annual Block Party, with the Skallywags performing from 6-8pm, and ticket giveaways, hot-dogs, and other free goodies! This event is sure to be hoppin’
  • Liberty Street will be taken over by the Jeff-Craig Fire Department having several trucks and other equipment on display for pictures, and they’ll have hot-dogs on the grill
  • On the corner of Liberty and Main Streets, in front of the Visitors Center, the 4-H Insect Agents Entomology Club will be setting up their plant and baked goods fundraiser
  • Swiss Perks will be having a Cinco de Mayo themed sale, offering $1 off Cha-Cha-Chai Lattes and Mocha de Mayos! (Available hot or over ice!)
  • The Grand Opening for Seller’s Home Goods will also be taking place during First Friday. While they have been open for a few months, this will be their grand opening and official welcoming to Main Street
  • Down at the Community Art Center, the featured artists for the month will be the art students from Switzerland and Trimble County High Schools. On display will be ceramics, plaster, and painted art from local budding artists
  • The Eye Care Group located on Ferry Street will be open late for shopping their sunglasses sale, and have a funky photo opportunity set up for visitors to participate in
  • Vevay Vintage Prop & Shop will be hosting House of Brisket food truck for their big debut, with Michael Kruse performing, and Shonda and Amber will have double Lula Roe pop-up boutique inventory
  • The local YMCA will be hosting their bake sale and stick horse derby race! They’ll be set up at Opera Park, it’s $2 to ride or $2 to bet. All proceeds go to supporting the local Y
  • The Lantern Coffeehouse will be open and serving up great coffee until 7pm
