You can hear it already, “There’s NOTHING to do!” Before you know it, the kids begging for school to be over will soon be begging for something to do. Make this an opportunity to take a little day trip to Switzerland County to admire the beauty and history of Vevay’s Historic Hoosier Theater! The Hoosier Theater offers plenty of neat movies and performances to offer some summertime entertainment. Conveniently located on Ferry Street, the theater is surrounded by restaurants, shopping, and parks to add to a day of fun.
The list of scheduled shows is always growing, but here are the current movie showings for the next few months:
June 10 at 7pm – Raisers of the Lost Ark
June 14 at 2pm – Homeward Bound
July 5 at 2pm – The Land Before Time
July 8 at 7pm – My Fellow Americans
August 2 at 2pm – Inspector Gadget 2
August 12 at 7pm – You’ve Got Mail
First and foremost, the Hoosier Theater’s goal is to host live performances on its stage. Be sure to check out the Forget Me Not Dancers & Zabava a Georgian Troupe on June 24th. Also, starting June 19th is the Children’s Theater Camp led by Kate Wilford from Cincinnati. (More details on the theater camp will be released in June) Follow the Historic Hoosier Theater and Switzerland County Tourism on Facebook to stay current with events!
