The Vevay Historic District contains 300 buildings, houses and landmarks, bordered by the Ohio River to the south. The largest concentration of 19th century residential architecture can be found along Market Street, where you will see heirloom gardens and beautiful views of the river. The Main Street business district features historic 19th century buildings. The District has been listed on the Indiana State Register of Sites & Structures since 1981. An application for listing on the National Register of Historic Places is pending at state level. Visit the Life on the Ohio River History Museum and the Switzerland County Historical Museum, both located in historic buildings.
