Ferry Street Woodworks is owned and operated by Richard Yanikoski. Dick has been making furniture for more than 50 years, having finished his first office desk at the age of 13. Self-taught, he later studied at Rosewood Studio in Canada and at the Marc Adams School in Indiana. He has done work for homeowners, businesses, and institutional clients including Stonehill College, the U.S Air Force, and the Veterans Administration. His previous woodworking shop was River House in Illinois. At Ferry Street Woodworks, Dick can make custom hardwood furniture and furnishings (tables, stands, desks, bookcases, bed frames, chests, lamps, and more), ornamental turnings and architectural items (balusters, corbels, newel posts, mantels), and parts for furniture restoration. Clients seeking custom furniture are guided through a collaborative design process involving choice of style, wood, hardware and finish. Furniture repair is undertaken on a time-available basis.
