David Beardmore, a native Iowan who spent his formative yearsin Iowa, Texas and Oklahoma before moving to Kentucky in his early twenties. He currently resides and works in Northern Kentucky but “lives” in Southern Indiana where he is involved in Switzerland County Art Center and Historical Society. He lives his Indiana life with his wife Dawn and is the proud father of three men, Ian, Alex, and Evan, and grandfather of Elizabeth, Ella and Evelyn.
David is a fine artist specializing in watercolor and acrylic painting.
David’s subjects over the years have gone through cycles of religion, people and architecture. For the last several years he has been on a cycle of architecture focusing on older buildings both beautiful and industrial.
He attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine art. He continued his education at the University of Tulsa where he did graduate work with an emphasis in painting.
He showed with the Agora Gallery in New York City in the early 90’s highlighted by the See No Evil group show in 1992. He followed this up with a solo show in Oklahoma City in 1993.
After 1994 David stopped painting for a decade showing again for the first time in 2006 Secret Artworks show in Cincinnati, Ohio and the Square Foot Show at Art Finds Gallery. Dave became a regular of both the juried and postcard shows at the Pendleton in Rising Sun over the following years. In February of 2014 he had a solo show In the Pendleton’s Java Bean Too.
